proactively temp-defedded some instances with botspam after verifying that their local timelines were drowning in spam. will review them daily to see if they clean up their act. if they don’t after a few days, I’ll reduce that frequency until I stop checking.

@Seirdy on the main akko.wtf instance, I’ve enabled the RejectNewlyCreatedAccountNotesPolicy MRF to reject posts from accounts that are less than 12 hours old, which so far has been pretty effective at keeping the spam at bay.
IDK how much of this is possible on other types of intances but it’s all possible with the available Akkoma MRF policies.

Without visibly active administration, I don’t know if the instance could be a source of spam in the future; this measure at least proactively takes care of hashtag spam. See the “Federated timeline removal” section of our “About” page for these.If an instance doesn’t remove the spam accounts, even if they appear inactive, it remains suspended.
